Clubs organising cruiser racing usually make most of their events open to non members, and those in the southern region are listed by SCRA for the Solent (from Hurst to the forts), Chichester Harbour Federation, and Poole Yacht Racing Association.

Clubs usually run dinghy races for their own memberts, and Open Meetings when they welcome visitors. The listing in Yachts and Yachting is mainly of Open Meetings and covers the whole country. Dinghy racing in Southampton Water and Chichester Harbour.
